Event Location:
Online, Webinar

This presentation offers an overview of the EEG@HOME study, focusing on wearable EEG monitoring in epilepsy patients. Beginning with an overview of the potential application of wearable EEG devices in epilepsy and then description of study's protocol, the discussion progresses to examine adherence rates and participant feedback, providing qualitative and quantitative perspectives. Additionally, preliminary findings on data quality and the potential for temporal patterns/cycles investigation using integrated EEG, heart rate, and self-reported metrics will be presented.

This presentation wants to provide insights into the feasibility and implications of at-home EEG monitoring in epilepsy research and clinical contexts. Dr. Andrea Biondi is a neuroscientist and psychologist specializing in wearable technology, digital health, psychophysiology, and neuroscience. Currently obtained a PhD in Clinician Neuroscience and now working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at King’s College London. He is involved in several projects aimed at developing feasible procedures for remote monitoring and the integration of digital mental health interventions in epilepsy care. These new procedures could enable patients with epilepsy to independently and safely collect daily at-home EEG data using new technologies or reducing the gap between mental and physical healthcare in epilepsy management.
